The Summer Exhibition @ The RA

At the The Royal Academy of Arts FINISHED

Almost 250 years ago, the RA’s founding members agreed to hold an “Annual Exhibition of Paintings, Sculptures and Designs … open to all Artists”, to help finance the training of young artists in the Royal Academy Schools. This is the 249th Summer Exhibition. It has been held every year without interruption since 1769!

It is the world’s largest open submission exhibition. Around 1200 works are display, the majority of which are for sale offering visitors an opportunity to purchase original artwork by high profile and up-and-coming artists.

I look forward to this exhibition every year! It is an incredible opportunity to find up and coming artists, and maybe even buy a few small pieces.
