Hokusai: beyond the Great Wave @ The British Museum

At the The British Museum FINISHED

Hokusai is one of Japan’s most renowned woodblock print artists. His influence is famous. Monet, Van Gogh and the rest of Europes avante-garde society were slight obsessed with him. And now I am too actually.

The British Museum's exhibition gives us some incredible pictures.  A selection of superb landscapes is introduced with the iconic Great Wave and Mt Fuji. Intimate domestic scenes capture fleeting moments of private lives. Exquisite depictions of flora and fauna display an innate skill in representing the natural world, and the coolest (in my opinion) portrayals of supernatural creatures such as ghosts and deities.

I loved it, and you will too.
